Scott retired from a 28-year accounting career in early 2022 and has been a substitute teacher in the Cobb County School District and a referee for youth soccer games in and around Atlanta since retiring.
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and worked in Arthur Andersen’s audit practice in Atlanta for nearly six years after graduating from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Accounting. After Arthur Andersen, Scott held corporate accounting and finance positions with increasing responsibilities at various Atlanta-based public and private companies, including EarthLink (an internet service provider), Newell Brands (a manufacturer of consumer products), and EmployBridge (a staffing company for manufacturing and logistics companies).
Scott grew up and met his wife, Mandy, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. They have lived in the East Cobb community for over 20 years and have three adult children: Nicholas, Lillian, and Charlotte. Scott enjoys exercising, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends in his free time.
